| I compiled my kernel and I put it on the card. Started the bootloader and MP froze. I pulled out the battery and now it doesn't want to start. When I connect it with the power suply no LED starts lighting. Nothing. As I was sugested, I pulled out both the batteries and it was without batteris for 2 weeks because I was in vacation. When I reassembled the MP the result is same - like people say in russian forums - before me is laying a death body

| Thank you for the information, yes, I would rather work with Win Ce.
Perhaps you know where can I get MobilePro900c application and driver cd? I don't have one and thus have no active synch. |

| Hi, buddies!
Tell me please, what kind of opensource software could I compile and get running on this port of Linux on NEC-900c?
So what may and should I download?
Could it be "PHP 5.2.4 (tar.bz2)" and "mysql-5.0.45.tar.gz" for example?
I'm new to Linux. =) Thanks in advance! |

| So i tried to run linux suing this manual: http://www.belxs.com/michel/mp900/LinuxonMobilepro900.htm and I've got :
VFS: Cannot open root device "hda2" or unknown-block (0,0 )
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknow-block (0,0 )
Where's the problem?
I have 1gb CF card Edited by kitor 2007-10-22 1:24 PM

| While that tutorial is good for showing how to install linux to a cf card, it is outdated and using the wrong userlands and possibly an old kernel....
Please try using jlime henchman as it was built for the 900c rather than the links posted which are for the jornada 7xx.
http://devfiles.jlime.com/900c_Henchman_1.0.0-Testing/
The kernel panic could be due to a few things, but usually relates to generic or off brand CF cards. The cards indentifier string is not in the current 2.6 kernel. If thats the case you're better off trying a name brand CF like sandisk, kodak or kingston which are known to work as we havent heard from Cosmo0 in quite awhile.
Cheers. |
