Convert Mono+Mic port to Stereo?

Hello, I have a CT2020 Fujitsu tablet pc. It has AC97 compatible sound. There is a headset port, but instead of stereo sound it outputs one channel of sound and the other channel is the mic-in. Is there a registry value or something I could modify to do change this? Is there anything I can do? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I dont think the jack settings can be changed though I'm not 100% sure. I think were stuck with trying to get something USB or maybe a PC card working.
