I don't have them yet, but will in a few days...hence my reason for not posting this info in hpcbay...yet.

Anyway, I will have about a half dozen Mobilepro 880s for sale. They will include the HPC, stylus, power supply, good battery, and Cisco 350 wifi cards and all the CD stuff. Don't know what the market will bring on these things...but if you know anyone who is interested on a full size screen hpc you might give them a heads up....should be about a week or two. I'm hoping that they will go for about $80 and that will include shipping in the USA. But who knows these days...I may have just invested in lemons...

Moved into hpcBay with a frown - it's either that or I delete it for rule violation

I must have misunderstood...thought hpcbay was only for items actually for sale...cool though...thanks C:Amie...

Although be clear everyone else, I do not currently have anything FS, FA, FT, nor am I making a REQ for an item. This is just a potential post seeking interest for future sales....

Anyway, hopefully I'll have these things in a couple of days, so if anyone is interested...pm me...

Rich

Gonna put a 790 ROM in it, cmonex? (Maybe your next project could be to figure out how to get USB host re-enabled after the ROM switch.)

it already has a 790 rom and new 3V backup battery.

yeah this sounds a good idea, if i can fish the drivers out of a 880 rom along with needed registry entries, and learn some basic mips assembly, then sure the usb will work. i still have the original 880 rom somewhere, need to find it, and then i can try.

Okay...update time: Got the 880s in, and they are actually in very nice shape. Am charging them up now to make sure the batteries all charge and hold it fine. From emails a couple are sold, but I still have one that has a minor blemish. It has a crack in the plastic along the bottom left corner of the screen...so it is going to go for five bucks cheaper...$75 if anyone is interested. Remember, this includes the unit, the a/c adapter, the stylus, and a Cisco Aironet 350 wifi card which you can use with any HPC. These wifi cards are selling for $30-$40 alone on eBay (why I don't know, but they are), so that makes this 880 a very good deal I think...

Yeah, it is. Wish I'd gotten that kinda deal on mine. With the 790 ROM installed, it's a great device.

Cmonex: I thought the Mobilepro 880s were H/PC Pro systems with Windows CE 2.12 OS - not HPC2000. Isn't it just the 890 model that has HPC2000?

Were these units upgraded to 890?

Oops Sorry about the 2.12 typo for the Windows CE version.

Thanks for the correction about the 890. I could have sworn that I've seen info about an MP 890 somewhere.

Are there two versions of the 880 then? Everything I find online refers to it using HPC Pro.

Update: I think I've answered my own question, but I just want to make sure. I think I've seen people refer to the 880 to 790 rom swap described on Rich's website (see link below) as the MP 890 (even though it's not really that).
Cmonex: Was the 880 that you mentioned above "upgraded" to 790? Also, for whatever it's worth, I also just checked the 880 specs on Rich's website, and it says that the 880 uses Windows CE 2.12 , although I've never seen that version before on other HPCs using the HPC Pro software.

Here's the link for the 880 to 790 swap:

Yeah, MPC720, that's what the "890" is.
