Well done. It's professional work, just like factory made or even better.

thanks CAuser

for those that are interested I have ordered parts for building another batch of serial cables. The cables work on MP900/900c and have heard they work on Sig3 as well.

for those that have contacted me your on the list, thanks

Hey all, been on holiday and back on the where I left off trail.

Serial cables are in, thanks for the few that responded, I now have in the 1foot cable (0.3048 meter) Pictures here
http://picasaweb.google.com/goingweb/MP900c_serial_1ft

The 6foot (1.8288 meter) are taking longer so they should be in shortly

send me email for those that want one -> goingweb @ (gmail com)

CE Geek-
Its never to late to add to your collection

I figured cmonex would be the first to say that.

I do want a Sig 3, but I'm tapped out right now, so $300 is a bit much for me to spend on even a really cool H/PC.

I'm starting to rethink the possibility of getting a 900C after hearing all the cool things people are getting it to do - and given how inexpensive they've become of late.

You can get a decent one for less than 100 bucks if you select a good seller.

the serial cables are sold for $25 +shipping for the 1ft pig-tail
and the 6ft is $30 +shipping.

Rich () was kind enough to post info and a nice tutorial on his site here.
http://hpcnec.com/cgi-bin/simpleforum.cgi?fid=12&topic_id=1186484307

a few have asked some questions about the cable that I might be able to clear up here.

The cable is wired as straight through with rx, tx and grnd signals
I do have some cables wired as null cables (or reversed) if needed
am selling some on ebay LINK

"What can I use the cable for"
What most are using the cable for is terminal, debug, boot, maybe some file transfer, GPS or other external serial RS-232 device data control for the MP900.
Because the serial port is a standard serial port you can connect lots of things
to it without the hassle of finding and installing drivers.

"Why did you make the cable"
1st there are none elsewhere! "if your lucky someone sells a used one this decade"
I created the cable to help out the community of MP900 users working on creating some great new ROM, Linux and other cool builds.

Hope it helps

If you dont see this listing (sold) just do a search for OP-MP9-Linkser
the original NEC part number for the serial cable on ebay

Like this
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=op-mp9-linkser
