As far as I can tell, Linksys WPC11 v.3 has 2 variants. One's FCC ID is PKW-WPC11-V3 that works on MobilePro 900C with CE .NET 4.2 and the other's PKW-WPC11-V31 that has not yet made work on MP900C. I did read some reports about using Pretec's driver for its CF WLAN card on CE .NET 4.1 machine, but whether it's the former or the latter is not clear. I'd be very interested in testing alternative drivers for WPC11 v.3 on MP900C. I tried Linksys' own driver set that includes one (WPC11NDS) for CE 3.0 but no driver for CE .NET, Intersil's reference driver PRISMNDS, ISLP2NDS, and Pretec's CW98 for Pocket 2003 (Pretec has also a driver [download name: 16.zip that 's same as for PPC2003 and 2002] for PPC 2003SE). Any comments?

I tried WLAN-WINCE-4.0.zip for Senao CF WLAN card and PRISM400.2577.cab from cesd0028, but no success. I did successfully use the latter for Belkin F5D6020 v.1, Netgear MA 401 Rev.B and D, D-Link DWL-650 Rev.A-J, and Linksys WPC11 v.1 and v.3 (PKW-WPC11-V3, not V31) on Skeye.pad SL with CE .NET 4.1 and MP900C with CE .NET 4.2. ISLP2NDS does interact with the card, but it causes MP900C to freeze.

What drivers do you need to make it work?

Try installing the prismnds.dll from the Linksys WCF12 card manually.

Following your tip, I did copy the driver from WCF12 driver set to a freshly hard reset MP900C. Unfortunately, the driver caused MP900C to freeze though it did recognized the card and detected wireless networks.

I tried to upgrade the card's firmware, but Linksys' winupdate.exe program encountered an error. No clue.

I also have a Netgear MA401 v2.5 card. The driver did recognize the card, but the card detected no wireless networks. I tried to update its firmware, but my CD v1.5.11 did not include Netgear's winupdate.exe.

Um, Netgear's Winupdate.exe reports that I already have the latest firmware 1.03.06. The program does not allow downgrade to 1.03.04 that I'd prefer.

Did you use the prismnds.dll from the CE 3 or CE.NET cabs from the wcf12 package? There is a difference in how they react. But if you have the latest rom flash from NEC, it has wifi support built into it and you don't have to worry about drivers for prism based cards any longer.

Also, after you install the driver the first time, you may have to warm reset in order for it to work from that point on.

Yes. I did use the CE .NET cab (extracted PRISMNDS is 668KB) from WCF12 driver set. I did try it on Cmonex' custom ROM that includes PRISMNDS and ISLP2NDS. None of those works. PRISMNDS from HPCFACTOR or WCF12 package and ISLP2NDS from the custom ROM all bring up a dialogue with a list of wireless networks but freeze MP900C. Incredible.

I have tested a few WPC11 v.3 cards. All except 2 worked. I did check the FCC IDs of the cards and found out that one with PKW-WPC11-V3 worked and 2 with PKW-WPC11-V31 did not. This has led me to believe that the difference between V3 and V31 may play a role. Obviously, one member of this forum did report that his/her WPC11 v.3 with PKW-WPC11-V31 worked on MP900C. Maybe, just bad luck.

I'm looking at my card right now, and it works fine. On the back of the card is fcc id pkw-wpc11-v31, canada code 3839a 12075. I'm not using any installed drivers at all, just the latest official rom download from NEC.

I see. The driver you are using is ISLP2NDS.DLL that was included in NEC's official ROM update 2.02 and Cmonex's custom ROM. Unfortunately, it refuses to work with my 2 WPC11 v.3 cards.

It depends on which device and OS you are using.
