| Wow, a Jornada 7 series and MP 900 for $130, and another guy mentioned that a MP780 is around $300, is that in Elbonian dollars and are you sure you people had breakfast or something?
That's news to me. I own several of these devices, and plan to sell them all to get a J728.
Current averages of Auction end price (not Buy It Now ) on Ebay, sans shipping:
MP780 - US$110
MP790 - US$160
MP900 - US$400
J680 - US$110
J720 - US$210
J728 - US$500-$700
Although I do not claim that these figures are the exact match of what one will end up paying for these units, I can attest that they are the results of several weeks of watching auctions and noting down their final price.
Not intending to be rude and all knowing, just want to contribute workable real figures. |

| loool, jornada 728 is more expensive than a newer MP 900? lol, $700... i got mine for about $325 (65,000 HUF )... and i thought that was too much (i was almost ashamed to pay that much for it )!
anyone cares to tell me why they're so expensive on ebay?
anyway, 130$ for a J720 is a nonsense, that's considered very cheap even here in Hungary, where you can get one with all accessories for about 175$ (35,000 HUF ), or one without accessories (and without battery, charger, etc ) for 75$... |

Here you go, little buddy. Here's one evidence that a Jornada 728 can exceed beyond US$500.

Of course, when I mentioned that price range, I was talking about almost new ones, if not brand new. Sure you can have a dilapidated J728 for significantly lower prices, but I like my gadgets to be mint and pristine when I buy them. You and I might have different standards. Given that the Jornadas are no longer being manufactured, they can very well command a premium if they're being sold new in box.
Additionally, as a longtime HPC user, you shouldn't be too surprised that a J728 can command a better price than a MP900. Now, if that's a MP900C, it's a different story.

| ah. i never doubted those prices
mine wasn't in that pristine condition when i bought it.. but it's OK. almost no scratches... and from the original buyer who bought it from a shop some time ago... so, i hope it won't fail on me too soon..
oh yeah 900c is different, sorry i forgot that. how much is one? 500-700? |

| Jupps, that's more like it.
£350 for a 728. I paid £250 for a shrinkwrapped 720 in early 2004, so that seems reasonable to me.
As for the MP price. Don't forget it's only available in North America, so anywhere else in the world it's priced out of the market. Plus hp = Handheld PC; they're synonymous with it. Spot on with the size (for most of us PDA users anyway). |
