| sorry forgot to say, the tutorial is on my site http://hpcmonex.net - go to the nec 900c section and there custom roms.
of course it looks like ~assembly in hex, there is lots of machine code in there because the kernel and some more stuff is stored uncompressed. Edited by cmonex 2007-07-14 7:56 AM

| Any progress on this front ? I'm trying to unlock this GV-370 as well. Thanks. | |

| Nah mate, the thing is air-tight. | |
| |
| I have a GV-370 to .
I am trying to install third-party programs such as Garmin Mobile XT
I can access the Explorer, but still I can not make Mobile XT work on Windows CE 4.2.
This is the process that I used to access the Explorer:
1) You have to Pug the USB Cable and go to SDMMC folder, the rename MENU.EXE as MENU.EX
2) copy GV350Uti.exe into the SDMMC folder, and rename GV350Uti.exe as MENU.EXE
3) You have to create a Shortcut to explorer.exe and paste the shortcut in \Windows\Desktop
- Unplug the USB Cable and turn it on.
- After that, you can see the in Windows Desktop the Windows Explorer Shortcut.
Try this and tell me if it works.

| ALMOST!!!
I did the steps you outlined above, and the desktop showed up for a split second when I rebooted it. Not long enough to click explorer. It then went back to the default menu....
Anyway to stop it redirecting to the default????
Cheers,
Robbie. | |

| Nice... I had to drop taskbar into the "flash storage" folder also, it get the desktop now.
I seem to be having issues with resolution though; the dialog boxes are too big for the screen and I have no "start" menu. I can get into the file structure by pasting a shortcut to explorer on the desktop, but this is deleted after each reset...
Any ideas?
Cheers. | |

| Found the following reg key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\AutoHide]
Set it to 0 and the taskbar flashes up, but goes away after the "globalsat" splash screen runs. This happen every time, but the splash screen is only up for a few seconds.
Argggghhhh!

| |
| Getting there. I deleted the GPS app link from Launch90 under HKLM/init and it stops the splash screen, but my registry is hard reset when the device is turned on then off.... Anyway to stop this?

| Any progress in unlocking this fully?
Is the taskbar.exe file something you created?
The link seems to be broken for that file.
Can you send it to me?
Thanks | |
