Post your discoveries about thoses GPS here.
I noticed those 3 brands sell the same models (but maybe with different rom feature?).

So my first info (many more will come very soon):

ShincoUpdate

Put this in the root of the SD card and then you'll be able to use Windows CE.

My own boot pack for Support Plus (coded by myself and based on many infos found online).
It just needs TomTom.exe in \SDMMC Disk\Navigator\.
Copy all the files to your SDMMC root folder and now TomTom is launched automatically !

All the files from this pack are licence free.

hey,

did you see my last question in the custom roms thread? did you try to flash that rom update? if you didnt and no one else did and it is just an assumption it would work, then don't do it before fully confirming the compatinblity. AFAIK it is for another shinco that has qvga resolution and different cpu, etc.

btw, TFGBD (great CE hacker, sometimes posts here) probably has the same shinco model as you. thats why i know this one more than most PNA's.

I haven't flashed the rom myself (it's useless for me) but I know some other people from another board who did it successfully.

Do you know if TFGBD already made interesting stuffs for this gps ?

are you sure those other people had the exact same shinco model?

Im totally sure about the bios image as this model is one of the cheapest in the country with so many features it became very popular!

If you wish I can dump the rom image og my own SupportPlus, but I have no idea how to do this to be honest.

to dump the rom.. first question: are you able to connect it to activesync? that would be best.

if not, no problem, there might be alternative methods too.

Sure i can connect with active sync !
First i tried to find online how to dump the rom. Then i tried to use OSImageTool and pdocread but both fails.
I read about another method that use usb as a com port but i didn't understood everything for now...

OSimagetool is no good for anything.. thats an old ipaq dumper

what does it say if you run the command: pdocread -l

(l as lowercase L and not I)

alternatively try bkondisk and bksamsung, attached to this post (run these on the device itself, first try bkondisk, see what it says in log, and have an SD card inserted with at least 64MB free space)

worst case use a ramdumper pmemdump 0x8c000000 0x400000 ram.dump
or similar, but depends on exact memory map, get it with pmemdump and the line vxxxxxxxx -> p30000000 is what you'll want, xxxxxxxx in the place of 0x8c000000

pdcoread indicates: ERROR loading itsutils.dll - probably denied by policy restriction
but this dll is already available in my computer directory and in the windows directory of Wince.
the so called policy restriction can be changed in the registry?
pmemdump brings the same dll error also.
I read rapi can be restricted in Windows Mobile but here its ce .net 4.2

about bkondisk and bksamsung flash, i copied both i, \windows ce directory
prun bkondisk \SDMMC DISK -> nothing happen
prun bksamsungflash \SDMMC DISK -> nothing too

so i used the command to have logfiles and both of them say:
ERROR: kioctl(FLASH, init1) - UNKNOWNERROR: 0x00000032
error initializing flash (in bkondisk.log and bksamsungflash.log)
