Hallo,
i'm italian I've recently bought a Cassiopeia E100 for 30€, to store my pdf and other documents and bring them around freely...
Now I was a bit puzzled when I discover I can't update my OS...
I never use before a PDA..
Could You tell me if the software I find on the net for CE will work also on my PDA, also if I haven't the latest update?
There is good soft for engineering for my PDA? I'm an electric engineering...
Excuse my poor english!
What's about strange thing like ARM or MIPS??
Thanks!
Domenico
PS
Also links to tutorial on the net will be appreciated..

Hi Docci.

Though this is a Handheld PC forum, I have some advice for you.

Cassiopeia E100, like other Palm-size PC, cannot upgrade its OS because it is embedded in a ROM. (Unless the OEM provides a ROM upgrade).

The ARM, MIPS, SH3, SH4 are all CPUs used by OEM until the Pocket PC 2002 came out, when they used only Strong ARM. Casio uses MIPS for Cassiopeia series with Palm-size PC and Pocket PC 2000. You should download softwares intended for MIPS, otherwise, the software will not work.

If you want to carry around pdf and other documents, I recommend getting a Compact Flash card.

Good Luck.

As already mentioned this is really the wrong place for your question. However PC Counselor seems to imply that there is a ROM upgrade:
