it would be nice to have a 640x480 and 800x480 version (for sig3 )
Sure, but it is not so easy... Try it, you will understand why: the screen height is a major parameter. The XP-like start menu must take the whole screen height. On a 640x480 or 800x480 screen, this would look really weird, so you cannot just modify my 900c skins. It is necessary to implement a slightly different skin concept: that will require some imagination and time...
But I have another idea for universal Ce.net skinning: I told you what I mean in my latest E-mail. If it works, that would be even better for the Sigmarion...

| My skeye.pad runs CE 4.2 .net, Geared2003. Hey, I'd've been happy with the two-column Start Menu - couldn't the separate components have been put in separate CABs? (Not trying to be demanding, just wondering. ) And I'm confused as to why the program has to draw the Start Menu at full screen height instead of just the sum of the lines used by the selection titles. | CE Geek, I did not code the main application myself: I just translated it ( it was in Japanese), modified it a little and repackaged it with several add-ons, and skins.
Originally, it was not made to do what it does now... In other words, it was an application launcher but it was not supposed to look like an XP-like start menu...
This application is very feature rich, and has many parameters and settings, but it can be tricky to understand all the underlying concepts at first : that's why I made a ready-to-use package for the NEC 900c. As I said, you can modify my package to make it work on your device, but you will have to change the skins. Think of PC applications like Litestep: you can customize it as you like, and the final look-and-feel can be very different. |

| Oh, okay, that clears it up. I thought the whole Start Menu part was an add-on on your part, not just the look. Edited by CE Geek 2007-06-17 4:03 PM

| I have finished the installers. I made 2 versions:
-the first one is for 640x240 pixel screens = NEC MobilePro 900c
-the second one is for QVGA landscape screens like most GPS devices
Please read the instructions carefully before installing the package. Install it only to the default installation directory ( "My Computer" ).
I also added my updated Royale Skin Pack as an optional install: it is a much improved version, with colors that match my QuickStart package (please read the instructions if you installed the previous version: it is quite tricky to uninstall ).
Enough BlahBlah; these are the download links (I hope that Cmonex can host these files too ):
NEC MobilePro 900c:

| That's very nice!
I would love the menu to be able to appear and disappear by clicking on the Start button, instead of the steady image, anyway great work! Edited by Dan 2007-06-20 3:45 PM

| To make the start menu disappear, type "Esc"
To make it visible again, tap the tray icon or the application shortcut on the desktop. |

Would you be able to assciate the disappear/appear function to the Start button, while keeping your wallpaper on the background without return to the classic Ce background? |

| I believe that with this final modification (if possible, of course ), this software plus a good skin for the taskbar would be really a must have inside the custom rom! Edited by Dan 2007-06-20 7:45 PM
