Interesting premise. If the licensing model was per connection, then no, but if it was per client I would have simply expected it to refuse to load or pickup a new CAL.

TSCAL handling on 2003 is weird, though, especially in mixed 2000/2003 enviroments. I wouldn't put it past it.
