| I'm wondering about the possibility of tethering a NEC 900C to a WM 5 Pocket PC Phone. I have an HTC Trinity that has an "Internet Sharing" program that operates via usb or bluetooth through ActiveSync 4.2 on my laptop tp provide high speed data on the Cingular 3G network. I was wondering if the same would be possible with a 900C cabled to my Pocket PC phone? Anybody tried this, or know if it's theoretically possible? It would be pretty cool if it did.
thanks,

| So what bluetooth connectivity are you using? Something from socket? Where did you get it? I had a feeling it could be done, even though Sambit at Thaddeus computing thought otherwise.
Thanks,

| Yeah, the Socket Bluetooth card should do this just fine. |

| I did some research over the weekend, and it appears that if you get past a certain revision of Windows Mobile 5 (Mine is OS 5.1.465(Build 15673.3.3.1)) the capability to use bluetooth or usb as a dial up network is disabled in preference to the new "Internet Sharing" Software. This software works really well with my laptop (I'm using it right now over a usb connection), but I'm doubtful that it could be used with a NEC 900c or other H/PC. What do the rest of you think?
cmonex--What kind of phone are you using (and which build)?
thanks,
David |

| i use AKU2.0 (yours is version 3.-something) so it has plain DUN (qtek 9000). i didnt think of the possibility that you would have internet sharing instead. i don't know if it works better than DUN or not, no experience with it on anything whatsoever. |

| rgisondi, the Socket card is Drakar-based, and is still supposed to be able to handle Bluetooth PAN. (At least it claims to - I admit I can't say how to make it work, though, since I haven't tried it myself. ) |
