Hi,

I'm completely new to Window CE and mobile devices so sorry if my questions are obvious answers.

I have an embedded device that has 400mhz cpu/128MB and runs Windows CE5.0 and come with the default IE version for the OS build.

Are their addons/plugins so I can view flash videos and other content on webpages? Like youtube videos, and shockwave sites?

Also, can I view video media (avi, mpg etc) stored on share drive on network on my CE device? How would I do this?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks I will check you site out.
Is that the best media player for CE?

Also is there pdf reader for CE5.0? Somebody told me it is only for Windows Mobile?

The device is an devkit housed in a ORM/custom case (actually not sure?) that I picked up at aution recently, it has 7' (only 800x400 res ( )touchscreen and runs on a SOM. Just got it to play round with.. not exactly a pocket size portable =) but it is ok for around the house

hey Sammy

I've found wimampq to be really good, Its just an old wimamp with some buttons disabled, but, it remembers your library of music, no video though from what I know.
AS for network I think it's GSfinder that adds network shares in the root of your device so Mplayer etc understand how to see the remote files.
This is how I used to stream music over wifi with my IPaq, except I used resco explorer to add the network shares.

Yeah, think the CPU is a Intel PXA270 (ARM I think?), but not sure on that.

I downloaded FoxitReaderforCE5_0 but get the error message 'Foxitreader is not a valid windows CE application' when running the exe on my device. Anyone know what is up with that?

Actually, not having much luck getting anything to work.

Installed Flash7 but that does not seem to allow YouTube videos to work?
Is there Opera for CE5.0? opera 8.65 beta installed but it doesn't work (although it does say 4.2 only)

Ah well, I'll keep working at it.

Sammythebull: that's an ARM.

flash7: do you have cellcore.dll in the right place? does flash work on shockwave.com?

as for opera, the 4.2 only just means it is not for older systems.

both for foxit and opera, please run execheck on them, otherwise we can't help.
