| I strongly doubt it. It may well work with a 2.11 Palm-size PC; I've done lots of interchanging of CE 2.11/CE 3 programs between the H/PC and Palm-size PC platforms successfully, but as cmonex has said before, there seems to be a bigger difference between 2.0 and 2.11 than between 2.11 and 3.0. That may be less of a problem with the core GUI, but on the other hand there's a difference in file hierarchy in the Palm-size PC that has to be addressed. (I'm by no means an expert, though - cmomex has corrected me many times before on these things, and will probably correct me on this too. ) Edited by CE Geek 2007-08-27 4:28 PM

| The CE 4.2 .net shell is already there on the device under the Windows Mobile 2003 GUI, isn't it? Maybe I heard you wrong, but in your previous post it sounded like you want to use files from a 2.11 ROM dump in a 2.0 device. That's where I think you'll run into a problem. |

| echhh my bad english. i wanted do dump files from ce 2.0 (explorer.exe and dependences) and run it on PalmSizePC(Phillips Nino 300). I checked system version in Control Panel and it writes "Windows CE 2.0" but ResInfo writes "Windows CE 2.1". So which files (from 2.0 or 2.1) must I dump from h/pc rom? |

| Okay, now I think I'm following you. You want to dump the ROM from your Mobilon and use files from it in your Nino, and you want to know if the ROM dumper works in CE 2.0. I don't know if the dumper will work in CE 2.0, but I imagine cmonex does. I have no idea where ResInfo gets the idea that the version is 2.1 - ignore that and go by what the Control Panel says. |

it will NOT work. virtualcopy is not available for ce 2.0 iirc and my app uses that..
there is another way, i'm planning to make a CE 1.0/2.0 version. anyway, i'd like to know which processor (exactly which MIPS cpu model ) your device has. |

| Google is your best friend, cmonex:
http://www.pygmy.com/reseller/hc4500.htm
R3912.
EDIT: Oops, wrong device. Apparently there are differing opinions on the version:
R3900: http://evvl.rustedhalo.net/hardware/mobilon-4600/
R4000: http://www.pygmy.com/hc-4600.htm
I note that the Philips PR31700 processor mentioned in the first link is the one that's in all the earlier Mobilons, according to Chris De Herrera's site (pocketpcfaq.com ). Edited by CE Geek 2007-08-29 3:17 AM

| CE Geek: i didnt check what device he was talking about at all. i saw mention of pspc and assumed that was it.
well if it is the 3912, i havent tested that one, but lets assume it is like the intermec, so needs 1e000000.exe. if it crashes, try the other ones.
or get the cpu docs.. |

p.s.: i must be tired. i didnt see i was also saying virtualcopy wasnt supported either, not just setkmode. but then, maybe it is there too, unofficially? Edited by cmonex 2007-08-30 1:17 AM
