Hardware Compatibility List Terms & Conditions

The Hardware Compatibility list is an exclusively compiled resource of compatible and even incompatible hardware accessories, upgrade options and add-on hardware devices for Windows CE based Handheld PC devices. The list can Only be found at HPC:Factor!
As a community project run by HPC:Factor, before using the HCL it is important that you understand the purposes for which it was created, and how it is compiled.

Please spend a few moment reading over the HCL terms and conditions below.

HPC:Factor Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) User agreement:

Version 5.04 - 28th September 2006

You agree that:

  1. The HCL is provided free of charge for all visitors to HPC:Factor. The content is provided as is, and my NOT be copied to a third party site without legitimate written permission from the HPC:Factor administration. Any attempt to replicate, redistribute or reinterpret information found on the HCL without the express permission of the HPC:Factor administration will be challenged to the fullest extent of the law.
  2. The HCL is updated and maintained by HPC:Factor, based on content provided through internal analysis on test devices, information collated from the HPC:Factor user community, and from compatibility information provided by hardware manufacturers. The Information contained within the HCL is believed correct at the time of publishing. HPC:Factor advises that all users of the HCL check with the hardware manufacturer as to whether their hardware is compatible with the following before purchasing:
    • The Make and Model of your PDA
    • The Operating System version of your PDA
    • The Processor type within your PDA
  3. Amendments to the list are performed when new information is received from PDA users or from the Hardware Manufacturers. Submissions to the list will be accepted from PDA users and from and Windows CE 1.0, 2.0, Handheld PC Professional, HPC2000 and Windows CE 2.10, 2.11, 3.0, 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2 .net, Windows CE 5.0, 6.0 and Windows Embedded CE 7.0 hardware manufacturers, and entered free of charge.
  4. Retractions from the database will only be considered if the accuracy of the data is found to be invalid OR the Hardware Manufacturer formally requests the adjustment through written channels. HPC:Factor reserves the right to retract information from the HCL at any time without notification to end users, OEM's or manufacturers.
  5. The HPC Factor HCL is provided solely for the benefit of the PDA community. HPC:Factor does not endorse any of the products in the list, neither do we discredit them.
  6. HPC Factor can not be held responsible for losses caused by the invalidity of data for within the HCL. HPC:Factor and its owners accept no liability for the use or misuse of the HCL as an information and research repository.
  7. The Hardware Compatibility List is in no way affiliated with the Microsoft Corporation or Microsoft Corporation's Windows or Windows Mobile 'Logo' programme's.
  8. Should you wish to Link to the HCL from a separate site, please feel free to link to the index page for the HCL found at https://www.hpcfactor.com/qlink/?linkid=10. Web masters, site users and HPC:Factor staff may not provide links to direct content within the HCL, if a person is found to have done so, that person or organisation will be held liable.
  9. Any attempting, or successfully circumventing the security and link inhibitor systems installed as part of the Hardware Compatibility Lists End User Licensing System will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law under the jurisdictional authority of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and/or the United States of America.

From 7th November 2004 user referral broadcasting is no longer required to access the HCL. All previous disclaimers on HCL access restrictions are now invalid.
