Hi Guys. Newbie here, Mel in Edinburgh, Bonnie Scotland.

Just picked up a cnm netbook with CE 5.0 and I'm going to be using it mainly for storage of text items, certainly within the capabilities of the 4G SSD. 7 inch screen, usual spec I would think, came from the local electronics shop at a good enough price. I'll likley stick an SD card in it and store the text there.

My life would be even happier if it was possible to do some HTML editing on the netbook with a simple HTML Editor, WYSIWYG even better! Does anyone know of such software that will run under CE? and then would there be an FTP program that could be used - or built in to the HTML editor? Am I asking too much of the wee beastie

I'm impressed with it going wireless "out of the box", and really, I suppose I'm looking at icing on the cake. Anyone like to comment, but be gentle - as well as being a newbie with netbooks, I'm n old Silver Surfer from the past trying hard to keep up

Mel

There is a program called H-Bomb which required the VB runtime, but that offers basic html authoring. http://www.hpcfactor.com/qlink/?linkID=100

vxFTP is an example of an ftp program http://www.cambridgevx.com/

OMG a fellow Scottish bod on here Based near Dundee but work at RBS gogarburn

Total commander is good for file management and FTP duties can defo recommend that. http://www.ghisler.com/wince2x.htm also you will find a review on here that covers using it being used for ftp http://www.hpcfactor.com/reviews/software/ghisler/totalcommander-2.0/.

If there are any other tools or utilities you could do with then just ask. There is quite a lot of CE software but sometimes difficult to find and CE5 is new for most of us so some programs may not work without a little messing about with.
