Hey all,

I just got my hands on a great condition Jornada 820, never used until recently. My question is this. A message continues to appear every 5 minutes or so stating "Backup Battery Very Low" and then under that it says "Your backup battery is very low or missing."

Since I did not have the chance to see what should and should not come with this 820, was there some external battery that was supposed to be there or perhaps the battery is just old enough to not function properly? If it's a simple matter of buying a new internal battery, that would be great.

Any others come across this issue and found a fix?

Thanks!

Probably just the coin cell is dying or dead. My dollar store sells 3 Sunbeam 2032s for $1, good deal. They used to set my back 3-4 bucks each before the dollar store carried them.

Ya beat me to it ,Wally. It is the backup battery it is there to prevent loss of information when your main battery goes low . Mine is going off now.

no major problems with the J820 that I can remember. Just have fun with it.

Sounds like a pretty simple & cheap fix. I'll pick up a few batteries tomorrow and try it out. Thanks!

it is the slot located on the right side. it takes two batteries. Becareful when you take it out . when you pull down the clip the battery slot is attached to a ribbon that pulls out the batteries
