The first shot is the prism ce usb drivers. Huge in comparison to non-usb prism drivers.

The second shot show the drivers after installing. prismnds.dll is huge (I guess it has embedded firmware) and note prismusb.dll

prismnds works fine with a pcmcia card.

If I plug in my usb netgear ma111 (version 1, supposed to be prism 2.5) it won't accept prismusb.dll as the driver, but the wifi link light goes solid like it has a connection.

I'm so close on this but so far. Any ideas?

I don't know what to suggest, I have no way to help you test this.
I would though, if you're willing, be interested in obtaining copies of all of the driver versions that you've managed to obtain.

Cheers

the wifi link light goes solid like it has a connection.

ahh ahh that means no good in my experience.

i never had the time / opportunity to solve it (for example (not the only one example!) the wibook does this for me when i plug a prism card in it, except if this is a dlink dcf660w which is preinstalled).

of course the cause can be completely different in this case but it looks like it (driver) accepted the card but somehow it isnt fully compatible. can happen with prism stuff.

other thing i can think of is too much power drain (i might be completely wrong with this of course but thats my experience again...)

Did you see this old thread on Brighthand...
http://discussion.brighthand.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=113899

You have to edit the inf file or something. It's been a long time so I don't remember much of the thread now.

Look at your second screen cap, the CAB file below the one highlighted is the one that works, IIRC. "PRISM.HPC300MIPS.CAB"
I can't remember which one it is, after this CAB extracts.

Group,

I've added the USB drivers that wallythacker kindly sent along to me into the Intersil 2.5 reference article:
http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/cesd/h/0028.asp

If there are any additional driver builds that you know of which I haven't listed, as ever, I'd love to get them onto the server for people to download.

I admit I was in a hurry when I tried to get them working. I only did the inf hex-dec editing and plugged those in the registry.
