Welcome to Pocket Scheme, a standards-compliant implementation of the Scheme programming language for the Microsoft Windows CE (aka Windows Mobile) Pocket PC and Handheld PC.

Pocket Scheme gives your PDA a standalone programming capability in Scheme, a dialect of Lisp with exceptionally clear and simple semantics. It supports file creation and manipulation, arithmetic operations of unlimited precision, the complete Unicode character set, data sharing via the Windows clipboard, regular expression matching on character strings, simple TCP client and server networking, scripts written in Scheme, and even direct system calls to the Win32 API.

Very nice little gem! The file manipulation and TCP socket creation works really nice together. If you want a functional on device programming language, this is the way to go. Pocket Scheme supports Aubrey Jaffer's SLIB portable Scheme library as well. Plenty of documentation and sample code can be found here:

Hands down one of the best device-hosted development tools for CE. Scheme lends itself nicely to small devices, and this implementation runs on just about every major class of CE hardware out there. Also includes a simple, but very useful standalone text editor.
