Help with HP Jornada 680 - No Sync Cable!

Hi,
I am new to this forum and just received an HP Jornada 680 without a sync cable. I do however have a CF card and attempted to install some CE programs, by downloading these from my desktop PC onto the CF card and then attempting to install the programs from the CF card in the Jornada, I get an error stating that the file is not a valid Windows CE .exe. From What I can tell, the system is CE version 2.11. Is there any hope out there without this cable and an ActiveSync connection????
