Description

vbceCreateProcess allows you to start another program from your Visual Basic application. In addition, if you are running on a HPC or HPC/Pro device, it allows you to return control to your Visual Basic application right away, or wait for the other application to complete.

This control has been tested on SH3 and MIPS hardware.

vbceCreateProcess offers two methods:

CreateAndReturn <path>, <exe file>, <parameters>
CreateAndWait <path>, <exe file>, <parameters>, <timeout as long>

It is very simple to use:

Dim newProcess
set newProcess = CreateObject("vbceCreateProcess.vbceCreateProc")
newProcess.CreateAndWait "\windows", "repllog.exe", "", -1

The above sample will launch ActiveSync on the Windows CE device, then wait until ActiveSync is closed before returning to your Visual Basic application.

Installation Instructions

To register vbceCreateProcess on your device, simply do the following:

Copy the proper vbceCreateProcess.dll to your device \windows directory
Type RUN23 from the keyboard or SIP
Type "regsvrce \windows\vbceCreateProcess.dll"

That's all there is to registering the Create Process control on the device!
