OpenDOS for Pocket Post Pet 1.0

Did you create this program, do you know who did?
If you have stopped selling this program commercially, closed down your business or soon will be, the Windows CE community will have lost a valued developer and quite possibly your effort and creativity will be lost forever! It doesn't have to be this way,. The Windows CE community needs your help to preserve the historic legacy of Windows CE now more than ever as it enters into its twilight years.
Will you please consider either open sourcing or converting your license to a HPC:Factor Exemptionware license, where you keep full control of your application's rights without any support commitment but which allows the community to benefit from your efforts.
Please contact the webmaster if you are interested or would like more information and please be assured that HPC:Factor in no way benefits financially from any Exemptionware applications.

OpenDOS Windows is a character-based command shell. Key features include:

Typical commands implemented in general character-based command shells such as if and copy can be used.
You can use batch files.
Supports command history. You can select a previously executed command from the history and re-execute it.
An emulator version is also provided. It can be used not only for PDA environment maintenance but also for emulator development environment maintenance.
By editing STRRESOURCE.TXT in the distribution, you can change the error messages output by commands.
You can operate the registry from the command line and batch files. Also, since the registry data output format matches the format of the AddReg section of the INF file, you can copy and paste the displayed data into the INF file as it is and use it to create an installer.

Also, the following functions are not implemented, but if there are many requests for implementation and technically feasible, we would like to consider implementing them in the next version.

pipes and redirects
standard input, standard output, standard error
Function to wait execution of batch file until execution of external command (EXE) is completed

The OpenDOS window was created as part of the tentative name: WinCE Emulation Explorer (a development tool that transfers files between the Windows CE emulation environment and the desktop. Scheduled to be released soon). As such, it's more of an application for developers than the average PDA user. In addition, we made it possible to use batch files, so I think it will be useful for applications such as executing routine work during program development and rebuilding the environment after a full reset.

There are many explorer-like GUI-based high-performance shells available on the market. think. However, I think it would be nice to have such a tool as one of the desktop accessories.

In addition, the OpenDOS window is software provided for the purpose of "using Windows CE devices more comfortably" and "improving the efficiency of developing applications for Windows CE". I have no intention of porting this to any platform other than Windows CE.
