GlobeTrotting the wireless wayHandheld PC News Posted 19 years ago | News | Chris Tilley 0 comments
There are currently a small number of Korean / Japanese devices that appeal to the community, not least because of their ability to operate using wireless band communication technologies (GSM / GPRS). For the rest of us perhaps using an IrDA driver (such as ours) to connect their cellular phone to the Handheld PC is an option.
There is of course, another option available to existing Handheld PC users. CD Card's like the Option Wireless Technology 'GlobeTrotter Universal Tri-band GPRS/GSM PC-Radio Card'. Such cards offer you the Tri-band experience. With data service the world over. Third-party software, such as mPhone 2.6.3 can further extend the capabilities of the hardware (which should perhaps have come out of the box). For anyone who knows the joy of balancing their cell phone on one knee and their HPC on the other while being thrust around on a crowded train. This could be a well needed data solution.
