Community renowned developer SoftMaker are planning on throwing a spanner in the works of Office Productivity leader Microsoft in the coming weeks when they officially begin to release the multi-platform editions of their new software suite, SoftMaker Office.
SoftMaker Office, a collective version of the award winning TextMaker and PlanMaker bundled into one application suite is being targeted head on against the Microsoft Office product suite that has dominated the industry for so many years. Just when you thought that the office suite market was getting dull and boring and everyone has accepted Microsoft Office as inevitable, things are getting interesting again: SoftMaker Office 2004, a brand-new office suite from Germany, has been released today. (Referring to the PC Windows version) As a direct competitor to Microsoft Word and Excel the team at SoftMaker are undertaking a very bold task with this release. Naturally what makes SoftMaker Office stand out above Microsoft's counterpart is that it is also going to be made available for an array of different platforms, including the Handheld PC and CE4. Current specification and pricing for the H/PC releases is unavailable at this time. View: SoftMaker GmbH Posted on 16 September 2004 at 00:00By Chris Tilley (C:Amie)
