Comments on this articleIt's the HP 320LX obviously... and if you expected me to say anything else... know that I'm very disappointed in you. We did this a decade ago: https://www.hpcfactor.com/news/?iid=692 Let's see if attitudes have changed. (I voted for NEC then but HP now. It was a tough decision between the two both times.) I was always a fan of the HP Jornada 720 series. But I don't know if I'd say it's the "best ever". The NEC MobilePro 900 series was really nice, but HUGE. Still the NEC 900. I recently saw a mini notebook that reminded me of it. I will search now for it. I really liked the size of the 900! NEC made the most usable IMO. Casio made some "fun" ones and Sharp (like the Tripad) made some unique ones. Having looked over the various brands, I'd have to say Hewlett Packard made the highest quality offerings in this sphere of products. I got into CE machines a bit later than most (about 2 months ago heh). I started wanting a 200LX, and ended wanting a 720. Instead, due to budget reasons I bought a Sharp Mobilon HC-4600. I still say HP is the best. The price of their now 20 year old(more or less) used models proves that they are just as useful today as they were then. Few technologies/brands can make such a staggering claim. So far I am not surprised. If you are someone who voted for 'other', who are you voting for? Let us know here :) Hello, I just joined your community. How I wish I had discover this site 20 years ago! I began using an HP 200lx in 1994, I loved it and I still miss it (for some of its software, and because its keyboard allowed me to develop an as yet unmatched typing speed). I now have an HP Jornada 720 and still use it regularly. I lament that its CE 3.0 is not compatable with some of the wonderful phone aps. I’m so disappointed that you guys didn’t include the NTT DoCoMo Sigmarion III on the list. I loved all HP Jornadas I had, but my Sig III was definitely a nice improvement over my 720 in terms of speed and software Such a great website with loyal Handheld PC users and huge collection of Software for the most beautiful devices made in 90s and early 2000s. Thank you! P.S. I am with my Jornada 720. I hope it will outlast my experimental projects with Linux on it. I missed the poll, but you guys are making me want a Jornada 720. I'll always love my iTronix T5200 though. It's big, it's heavy, it's chunky, it's slow, its keyboard is weird, and its display is greyscale, but it'll survive things that the Jornada wishes it could. I dropped it onto a scale at work, and I think it dented the scale ... |
