Our very own community member WinCEDev has released an innovative new screen capture tool for Windows CE 2.11 and higher devices.

The tool, modelled after the native Microsoft Windows snipping tool changes the paradigm of existing CE screen capture tools by moving the UI from the system tray into a floating window while providing a range of customisation options in a small, simple package.

Written using what HPC:Factor refers to as Visual Basic CE 2.0, the app requires the VBCE 2.0 runtime to be installed in order to function meaning that it will work on H/PC Pro and above. WinCEDev has released the utility for free and it is completely open source, with the source code being available to download on GitHub.

Tip: We recommend that you install the VBCE 2.0 runtime manually and then use the 'CEF' CAB for CaptVB to install CaptVB as this can prevent problems with app uninstallation and re-installation at a later date.
