Following the less than favourable first few months of the "improved" Microsoft Embedded synchronisation client for Windows Vista, Microsoft have updated the release to try and resolve some of the wide-spread and rather embarrassing problems being encountered with the high-gloss front end to Vista's synchronisation system.

Although Windows Mobile Device Centre is of little use to any legacy device user, the new 6.1 release does at least offer fans of the Windows CE core some hope in that Windows Embedded CE 6.0 is officially back on the supported platforms list.

WMDC is available in a raft of languages, in both 32 and 64-bit variants and is a recommended update for all Windows Vista users currently using the 6.0 version.
