Apple Mac & Entourage synchronisation with H/PC'sHandheld PC News Posted 20 years ago | News | Chris Tilley 0 comments
Arguably one of the largest limitations of the Handheld PC, and indeed any Windows Mobile platform is the fact that when it comes to synchronisation it's Windows or nothing. A fairly new program to the Windows CE world, Pocket Mac has started to correct this oversight on the part of Microsoft.
As yet there is no support for Handheld PC synchronisation from the program. We've spoken to PocketMac about this and - in what has become a familiar story - they aren't seeing enough demand from end users for them to justify the development cost. PocketMac are also looking for OEM support. OEM support for a software program the likes of PocketMac is important. It provides a guarantee of sales in conjunction with hardware devices. It also shows a sign of commitment from the hardware manufacturers and they are open to the idea of addressing cross platform markets. HPC:Factor would very much like to help PocketMac find OEM and end-user support. If you are a Mac user and would like to synchronise your Handheld PC with programs such as Entourage (Office X's equivalent of Outlook) and are serious about wanting that functionality. Then get in touch with us and with PocketMac. If we get enough response from the community we will take it to our NEC contacts and see what we can do. The ball, as they say, is in you court.
